How to create and manage events

Hind Social allows the creation and management of Online and Offline events. Online events are virtual, accessible through the mobile or web app, while Offline events are in-person with a ticketing system managed through the app.

Who Can Create and Manage Events?

Your ability to create and manage events depends on your role and the permissions set by community or sub-community admins:

  • Event Organizers: Full control over event creation, editing, deletion, and moderation.

  • Ambassadors: Limited permissions to create and manage events, if granted.

  • Members: Can participate in events, express interest, purchase tickets, or join based on event type and permissions.

  • Event Moderators: Can moderate the event by viewing participants and removing participants from the event


How to create an online event?

Hind Social allows you to create and host online events that can be attended via the mobile app or web app. Follow these steps to create your event successfully


Step 1: Add Event Details

  1. Event Name
    Enter a clear and concise name for your event. This will appear in event listings and notifications.

  2. Event Description
    Provide a detailed description of your event, including what participants can expect and any prerequisites. Use bullet points to make it easy to read.

  3. Event Images
    Upload images representing your event. These images will be displayed in event listings and promotional materials. Recommended formats: JPEG/PNG.

  4. Attach Supporting Content
    You can enhance your event by adding content from:

    • YouTube links

    • Community library content

    • External URLs

Step 2: Choose Streaming Type

Select how your event will be delivered to participants:

Live Event

  • Use in-app live event: Host and manage the event directly on Hind Social.

  • Add external meeting link: Paste a Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams link. Attendees will be redirected to the external link when joining.

Content Streaming

  • Select from Library: Choose videos from your library or uploads in My Library.

  • Add YouTube Link: Paste a YouTube link to embed the video in your event.

Step 3: Set Date and Time

  1. Single Event (Non-Recurring)
    Create a single occurrence with your chosen date and time.

  2. Recurring Events
    Schedule multiple occurrences with the same event details:

    • Daily at [selected time]

    • Weekly on [selected day]

    • Monthly on [selected date]

    • Yearly on [selected date]

    • Custom: Repeat every 1–99 weeks/months/years, select days (S/M/T/W/T/F/S), and define when it ends (never, on a date, or after 1–99 occurrences).

Step 4: Visibility and Payment

  1. Event Visibility
    Set who can see your event based on your role and the entity where you are creating it.

  2. Viewer Permissions

    • Allow viewers to join (only for in-app live events)

    • Allow viewers to comment (for in-app live events and library content events)

  3. Define Pricing
    Choose between one-time payment or pay-per-event.

Step 5: Preview and Moderators

  1. Preview Your Event
    Check all details before publishing to ensure everything is correct.

  2. Add Event Moderators (Optional)
    You can add up to 3 moderators to help manage the event (available only for in-app live events).

  3. Streaming Options
    Toggle streaming to YouTube or Facebook on or off as needed.


How to Create an Offline Event on Hind Social

Hind Social enables you to create and manage offline (in-person) events directly through the mobile app. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up your offline event, from basic details to ticketing and moderation.

Step 1: Add Event Details

  1. Event Name
    Enter a clear and concise title for your event. This will be displayed in event listings and notifications.

  2. Event Description
    Provide a detailed description of your event, including what attendees can expect and any prerequisites.

  3. Event Images
    Upload images that represent your event. These images will be used in event listings and promotional materials.

  4. Attach Supporting Content
    Enhance your event by adding content from:

    • YouTube links

    • Community library content

    • External URLs

Step 2: Set Date, Time, and Duration

  1. Event Date and Time
    Specify the start date and start time of your event.

  2. Event Duration
    Set the duration of your event.

  3. Recurring or Non-Recurring

    • Recurring Events: Schedule multiple occurrences with the same event details:

      • Daily at [selected time]

      • Weekly on [selected day]

      • Monthly on [selected date]

      • Yearly on [selected date]

      • Custom: Repeat every 1–99 weeks/months/years, select days (S/M/T/W/T/F/S), and define when it ends (never, on a date, or after 1–99 occurrences).

    • Non-Recurring Events: Create a single occurrence.

Step 3: Define Visibility and Location

  1. Event Visibility
    Set who can see your event based on your role and the entity you are creating it under (same options as online events).

  2. Event Location
    Add the physical location of your event and any additional details attendees may need.

  3. How many people can attend
    Add the event capacity of the event

  4. Maximum ticket per user
    Set the maximum number of tickets or passes each attendee can book.

  5. Keep Selling Tickets After Event Starts
    Toggle this option on or off. Note: Ticket sales cannot exceed the event duration.

Step 4: Ticket pricing

  1. Free booking
    The users will be able to book for free

  2. Paid booking
    Users have to pay and buy the tickets/passes to attend the event

Step 5: Preview and Add Moderators

  1. Preview Your Event
    Review all event details to ensure accuracy before publishing.

  2. Add Event Moderators
    Optionally, add up to 3 moderators from your community to help manage ticketing and attendance.


Event Moderation and Approval

Event moderation ensures that content aligns with community standards:

  • Approval Pending: If your event requires approval, it will be in "Approval Pending" status until an admin approves it.

  • Rejected by Admin: If your event is rejected, it will be in "Rejected by Admin" status. Only you can view it, and you may delete it.


How to manage my events?

You can manage your events through the "My Events" section:

  • Edit Event: Make changes to event details, except for payment settings after ticket sales.

  • Cancel or Delete Event: Remove the event if necessary.

  • Transfer Ownership: Change the event host by using the "Change Event Host" option.
